2010 – a busy year

Well, 2010 is nearly at an end and we’ve been thinking about all that’s happened at easyfundraising in the last 12 months.

It’s been a busy one, with over 7,000 new causes joining us and over £800,000 raised.   We’ve handled well in excess of 1 million transactions, resulting in donations for causes all around the country and beyond. A big thanks from us to EVERYONE who has used our service to help their cause – you make easyfundraising what it is.

So what have we done this year?

Well, we’ve created a brand new Admin Area with lots of new fundraising tools to help our causes raise more,  joined the social community with our Facebook and twitter pages and launched our blog too.

Over 150 new retailers have joined us and we’ve teamed up with 40 of our retailers to give away a variety of competition prizes as a thank you to our members, from bouquets of flowers to HD TVs and much more besides.  A big congratulations goes to our Advent Grand Prize Winner Jane Osborne who won £1500 and a £1500 donation for her cause, Avon World Scout Jamboree 2011 Sweden. Well done Jane!

New developments

Behind the scenes there’s been lots of technical developments aimed at making fundraising even easier and simpler. Some of these are live already but we’ve also got quite a few exciting new things to bring in 2011 – watch this space!

We’ve also gained 5 new members of staff (Phil J, Phil C, Russell, Michelle and Gary), taken part in two races (and gained multiple blisters), spent a  night volunteering at a homeless shelter, had news of one upcoming happy event and one wedding and adopted three cats.

Cause of the month

Brave Chelsea Knighton, the inspiration behind our Cause of the Month winners for December, Chelsea’s Angels

In October, we launched a Cause of the Month competition to give our members the chance to tell us why their cause is the best. The two winners so far were Animal Rescue Kos (who kindly shared their £150 prize with runners up RSDR) and Chelsea’s Angels.

Nominations for the first Cause of the Month of 2011 will open soon – more details to follow.

So that’s just a brief snapshot of our year. We hope you’ve enjoyed fundraising with us and that you’ve found our service easy to use, our team approachable, helpful and friendly and the whole experience a good one. We’re always aiming higher so please do tell us what you think so we can make 2011 even better.

Wishing you a very happy 2011, from all at easyfundraising.
