Happy New Year! It’s 2012 and we’re thinking about new year resolutions – making them and trying not to break them.  A quick poll in the office found that most of the easyfundraising team are resolving to eat more healthily, exercise more and give up our vices (errr, not that we have many of course!)

    I’ve resolved to keep in better contact with my friends.

    Now that so many of us use text and email rather than picking up the phone or visiting, its too easy to think “I’ll reply to that later” then forget about it.

    So, in 2012, I’m going to respond to texts and emails as soon as I get them, and make a special effort to phone people for a general chit-chat.

    My New Years Resolution is to spend time each weekend with one of my three kids (in turns though!), cooking a meal for the family together. They love it when we cook together and lately life has been so busy and always rush, rush, rush. Cooking together is great quality one to one time with Mum.

    My new years resolution for 2012 is to lose weight properly and keep it off. My first baby is due in 6 weeks time and I will have baby weight to lose as well as the fact I was overweight before getting pregnant. I have also made a resolution to find a sport or form of exercise I enjoy and do it 3 times a week to boost my fitness and weight loss.

    I am going back out to Belarus in the summer to spend two weeks working with disabled children living in institutions. My new years resoloution is to get fit enough to be able to dance for two hours every night with the kids at the discos. I also want to raise money for Chernobyl Children’s Project (who I travel out there with) by taking part in a team effort to complete the distance in miles from our local city to Gomel on bikes, treadmill and in the pool – fitness required!
    I started kickboxing for beginners tonight and the healthy diet starts next week when i’ve eaten all the junk food left in the house!

    I am resolving to beat the misery that is OCD that has plagued me for the last two years, it came out of nowhere and that’s where I want it to go back to!! Because I have suffered with it, I have been more anxious and have done less meaning that I have slowly put on weight and don’t really feel myself, I want to get my life back!

    In June last year, I turned 39, and resolved to hug every single person I know before I hit the big 4-0. Half the year has gone, so my resolution is to finish the job – which will involve going to places like the States, Canada, Hawaii and New Zealand, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden and all over England, Wales and Scotland!

    If I can lose weight while doing it, so much the better – but my main target health-wise is to give up the evil weed. Eek!
