About Birmingham Railcar Workgroup

We are a group of volunteers based on the East Lancashire and North Norfolk Heritage Railways.We run 1950's Class 104 Diesel Railcar sets and have 13 examples in passenger service, under restoration and (sadly) in storage.Of the currently dilapidated examples, one-by-one they are being returned to their former glory. We are currently working on our third major restoration project.This process requires much financial input, although not as much as many similar projects in the heritage railway sector. £20,000 per coach (when combined with our volunteer labour) is estimated as sufficient to see excellent results. We are therefore appealing to those interested to raise funds for us through searching the web. Thankyou :)
