About ALD Life
ALD Life supports the suffers of Adrenoleukodystrophy - a rare, genetic, neurological disorder. It mainly affects young boys who have previously appeared to be healthy. It is a fatal, progressive condition which causes loss of motor and brain functions and blindness. There is currently no cure and no screening program and, as well as directly supporting the sufferers of the condition and their carers, ALD Life is campaigning for genetic screening and medical research with the long term goal of finding a cure.
