More about Abbots Langley G&S Society (ALGSS)

The Abbots Langley Gilbert and Sullivan Society has performed the G&S operas annually since its foundation in 1950. As well as our main production, which takes place at the Palace Theatre in Watford, we present an annual summer concert, play or revue in our home village. Several times in recent years we have participated in the International Gilbert and Sullivan Festival in Buxton, where we have enjoyed great success.

While we remain firmly based in Abbots Langley, these days our members come from a much wider area. Many relationships, marriages and families have been formed through the society, which is now seeing second and third generations of the performing families take their places on stage. These close ties, together with Sullivan's wonderful music and Gilbert's timeless wit, make our group a fun, friendly experience. New members are always welcome.
