This is carried out by our small but dedicated band of volunteers who foster the cats in their own homes. The main areas we cover are Farnham, Alton, Bordon and Aldershot and the surrounding areas in North-East Hampshire and West Surrey. It may be that the cats are only with us for a week or two but quite often, particularly if they are injured or ill, they stay with us for a long period of time until they are fit and well, have been microchipped and vaccinated and in the case of a cat over 4 to 6 months old, neutered. They then go on to our homing list for adoption to good homes. Whilst they are with us we need to provide food, litter and pay their vets fees, which run to thousand of Pounds per month. Where possible, we also try to tackle feral colonies, trap, neuter and return to the site. Unfortunately due to lack of manpower we are not able to do as much as we would like in this area. Our other aim is to assist as many people as possible, on benefits and low incomes, to get their cats neutered in an attempt to reduce the number of unwanted kittens being born. All of this costs money, the majority of which we have to raise ourselves. Do also visit our site at http://FarnhamCats.co.uk to see the lovely cats we currently have looking for homes, and for more information about volunteering - and/or find us on Facebook
