Fylde Coast Disability Awareness (FCDA)

Fylde Coast Disability Awareness (FCDA) is a volunteer led, charitable association established in February 2012 to provide support, advice and information for the disabled community, their families and carers. We intend to achieve our aims by developing an informational website supported by a paper monthly newsletter including child friendly, large print and audio versions. We also plan to host regular 'drop-in' coffee mornings or afternoons at various venues throughout the Fylde Coast to allow members to meet, have a chat, relax, share their experiences and meet new people. We hope to be able to invite guest speakers who will be able to provide current and important information for our members. We are busy organising several fundraising events to help finance our project including a family fun day, monthly Arts & Crafts fairs, sponsored slim, Wii Sports night to name a few. The 'highlight' of our year will be 'Labels Disable 2012', a full weekend dedicated to raising awareness of disability issues and showcasing what disabled people can achieve in the field of the arts, entertainment and sport.
