The George Moore Community Centre was originally known as Moore Cottage Hospital, and was established in 1928 by the local benefactor George Moore. When the hospital services were restructured for the area and the hospital was no longer considered suited for its original purpose, it was the wish of the village Parish Council to retain the building for the benefit of the local community. It was completely refurbished internally and now serves as a central hub for local services and activities.
