About Guideposts Trust

Founded in 1972, Guideposts Trust is a registered charity (272619) that provides direct community services for: Children with special needs; People with learning disabilities; People with mental ill health; older people with Alzheimer\'s and other forms of dementia; Carers of all these groups. Guideposts enables people to live the very best lives they can. Whatever the individual circumstances, our goal is to provide support, practical care, opportunity and hope, enabling each person to maximize their potential, fulfil their own goals, live independently and be a functioning part of the community. Over six million people suffer from mental illness in the UK, one million have learning disabilities and 700,000 have Alzheimer\'s and other forms of dementia. Of these, around 99% live in our communities as our relatives, friends and neighbours. Guideposts Services are run throughout England and Wales from the Charity’s Regional Offices located in Oxfordshire, Gloucestershire, Hertfordshire, Warwickshire and Northamptonshire.
