Katie's Ski Tracks

Katie’s Ski Tracks is a voluntary charity formed in 1990. We provide equal opportunities for youngsters with varying illnesses and disabilities by taking them overland on a 10-day adaptive skiing holiday to the beautiful mountains of South Tyrol Italy. Here they can flourish and learn new skills in a fun and exhilarating environment. Each group is accompanied by 29 CRB enhanced checked volunteers which includes a Paediatric Group Doctor including 4 nurses and Physiotherapist. A Video crew and photographer Adaptive trained Ski Guides, entertainments officer and carers. We carry a vast array of specialised adaptive equipment to meet their needs and when faced with new challenges we even design and manufacture our own specialised equipment insuring all youngsters in our society can participate in the sport of skiing, and not just the rich kids We offer this unique service for those youngsters normally excluded from school and family trips Due to a lack of resources or through medical, Insurance or financial reasons The benefits are Respite and quality time for families to spend with other siblings. Freedom from long term hospital environment and that all important first time independence from family life All enhancing their independence dreams and aspirations our youngsters grow in confidence and self worth as they forget about their illness and disabilities whilst in resort. This independence can be witnessed by families on their return home as they gain the determination to fight the many challenges they still have to face in life enabling parents to let their child participate in further opportunities. These holidays make a real difference.
