Pulmonary hypertension is raised blood pressure within the pulmonary arteries. These arteries are the vital blood vessels that supply the lungs, so when raised blood pressure occurs, it can seriously damage the heart and slow down its job of pumping blood around the body. Sufferers of this condition may experience leg swelling, fatigue and shortness of breath, among other symptoms, making it a very uncomfortable condition to live with. PHA aims to improve the lives of those living with this condition, providing support and advice to increase people’s knowledge and awareness of pulmonary hypertension. Focusing on intensive research and fundraising, PHA help affected people with their day-to-day lives so they can live a normal life without being restricted by their condition.
