Runners up
As part of the giveaway, there were also 5 runners up, each winning a £100 donation for their good cause.
Lerwick Baptist Building Fund
Joy Goodlad spoke to us on behalf of the charity about how they are using their donations
In 2011 we opened our new modern church in a big new housing estate in Lerwick, Shetland This was a tremendous undertaking for a church with about 100 members but we are delighted that is proving to be a great asset, not only as a place of worship, but as a multi-purpose building for use by the community we serve.
I set up easyfundraising as a way to encourage the church to add to the money being raised in various other ways and so far our total is over £1600. Winning an extra £100 is amazing. Thanks to NPower for their involvement & to easyfundraising.”
Biggleswade SQN ATC
The squadron were thrilled with their prize, and we spoke to Michael about how the money helps.
2065 Biggleswade Squadron is part of the Air Training Corps. We offer training to young people between the age of 12 and 20 years of age across many different disciplines including principles of aviation and adventurous trading. We are very grateful to Npower and will continue to try to raise awareness of easyfundraising.”
Reuben’s Retreat
Reuben’s Retreat are a charity set up in memory of 23 month old, Reuben Michael Graham. We spoke to Rachael from the charity who told us a bit about what they do:
All the money we raise goes straight into the charity whether that is in the renovation of the Retreat or towards our family support. This money helps us to carry out our much needed work with families who are bereaved of a child of those that face an uncertain future.
Our supporters have taken to Easyfundraising really well, we tweet about it, mention it in Facebook posts and we have it on our website as a way to raise much needed funds for Reuben’s Retreat that doesn’t cost them any money or time.
Our final runners up are LT Fundraising Committee; a group of freestyle dancers who are fundraising for equipment for the children who attend the group and St Francis of Assisi Church in Coventry.”
