White Stuff Foundation – Giving Something Back

Our last blog post of 2012 is about one of our partner retailers who goes the extra mile to make a difference to disadvantaged children. We thought it was an appropriate end to the easyfundraising year to tell you about White Stuff and its great work for good causes.

The mission of the White Stuff Foundation is to make the world a little happier by helping disadvantaged children and young people within our local communities.

They do this in a number of ways – each White Stuff shop, plus the head office and distribution centre are all partnered with their own local charity and they raise money for  it in a variety of ways, from fun and unusual fundraising events to match funding.  The Foundation gives regular grants to these charities – at least 1% of the company’s annual profit is given over to The Foundation to make this happen.

Putting the fun into fundraising

White Stuff are always coming up with fun ways to raise more – in Autumn 2009, a nationwide window campaign ‘Give a Gnome a Home’ saw thousands of customers adopt a gnome and the scheme raised over £30,000 for local charities. And who could forget ‘wear a tea cosy on your head day‘ which saw easyfundraising members getting into the spirit to win a £50 donation for their cause!

The charities supported range from childhood cancer research and care to medical equipment for new borns and many others, with 80 charities across the UK, two in Denmark and two in India benefiting from the support of The Foundation.

And all of our registered causes can benefit from a 2.5% donation when their supporters shop with White Stuff through easyfundraising – so that’s a whole lot more that White Stuff do for good causes.

It’s a big Christmas thumbs up to White Stuff from us – we think you’re doing a great thing!

Merry Christmas everyone!
