47th Doncaster (Edenthorpe) Scout Group

Edenthorpe Scout Group has Beaver Colony (6 to 8 years), a Cub Pack (8 to 10½ years) and a Scout Troop (10½ to 14 years). We are a very busy group with waiting lists for all sections. We are supported by an enthusiastic group of volunteer leaders who give up many hours of their time week in week out, not just for weekly meetings and the associated preparation and planning, but also for camps and days out and our own leader training (which is compulsory). Child protection is our top priority and all leaders are CRB checked and first aid trained. The group is financed in a number of ways. Weekly subscriptions (subs) are paid by each child; for admin reasons we prefer this to be paid by cheque at the beginning of each school half term.This money is primarily used to buy badges, pay the rent and provide our insurance cover. Gift Aid is a valuable source of money for the group. Using Gift Aid means that for every pound of subs you give, we get an extra 28 pence from the Inland Revenue; helping your member subscriptions go further. Money for equipment is obtained by fundraising. We use easyfundraising and Yellow Moon for this, as well as having our fundraising team, who organise a wide range of activities and events.
