About 63rd Derby (Darley Abbey) Scout Group
Scouts have been in Darley Abbey since 1909 (7th Derby) shortly after Scouting was started. The name disappeared from use probably during WW1. Our current Group (63rd Derby) was formed in 1927 so will celebrate its 95th anniversary this year. We are the oldest Group in Derby North District & the 5th oldest in Derby. We are currently fund-raising to buy our Scout Hall to ensure that our historic Scout Group can continue to meet in the village & not cease to exist for the lack of a meeting place
