About World Challenge China 2017 - Aylie Donoghue

Here we go Aylie World Challenge... Hi my name is Aylie Donoghue and in 2017 I will be participating in a program called world challenge, where I would be traveling to China to develop leadership skills, resilience and empathy and broadens horizons through new experiences. To be able to do these things and help the people in China I have to raise about £4,000 to be able to go on this experience of a life time. World challenge is an organisation that gives the opportunity to travel to different places around the world and participate is the 4 phases of the programme. The first phase is the acclimatisation phase and it is where we would spend some time at the start of expedition finding our feet in China, also we would be completing tasks such as buying a local mobile, exchanging money and confirming bookings, and it helps us adjust to our surroundings. The aim of this phase is to get used to the new culture and climate we find ourselves in and to start to work through the itinerary as a team. The second phase is the project phase; the project phase of the expedition is typically 5-7 days spent volunteering alongside a local community or on a conservation project. We are given the opportunity to live and interact with the locals and as a team we would become familiar with the community and are immersed in daily life and traditions, offering an unrivalled cultural experience. The third phase is the trekking phase and that is where we go under an amazing opportunity to spend time exploring the local region, Depending on the trek we choose to do, we may also learn about desert or jungle survival skills, discover local village ways of life with our guide or learn about natural habitats and wildlife the trek typically last between 4-7 days. The last and final phase is the rest & relaxation phase, this phase is designed to let us rewind as a team and enjoy the cultural experiences that China has to offer. This phase falls at the end of our itinerary, allowing us to reflect on the achievements throughout the expedition and also during some downtime. To be able to go through with this amazing experience I would need the help of others to help me raise the funds. What I am doing to raise I am looking for casual work. I have offered my baby sitting services, do chores for money, and I am putting together items to sell at ragbags and my mum is helping me put together fund raising prize bingo and abseil Titan crane so scary lol What you could to do help me: Your kind donation whether it is money or of an item that could be raffled off in an auction would be greatly appreciated and would mean the world to me to make a dream a reality. Please help.
