World Challenge Botswana 2018 - Ben Hazeltine

In July 2018, we will be going on an expedition to Botswana, we will be doing various jobs out there to help the people out there, like for example, building huts for the local people etc. This would be a one in a lifetime experience for me and would develop a huge range of skills for me, like my confidence, teamwork skills, independent skills etc. This would also give me the opportunity to gain survival skills, like making string from plant fibre, finding roots to provide a source of water,creating traps, making smoking pipes in the earth, making fires and building bushmen huts as well. We will be exploring a land where elephants reign and lions rule amongst the vast wilderness landscapes of the iconic Kalahari Desert and the immense Okavango Delta. This would also give me the chance to experience watching the sun set over the hot Savannah plains, to camp under the stars in the desert, track the big five on safaris in the Chobe National Park and to be able to laugh with the ancient tribesman by the fire. The price for this trip is £2,700, but I would need to buy kit for the treks,pay for vaccinations, insurance etc. so overall, I would need to raise about £3,500 in order to go on this life-changing expedition, I believe that over these 15 months I can raise this money with your help.
