About Chowbent Unitarian Chapel Atherton
Chowbent Unitarian Chapel, Atherton, and its congregation was founded in 1645 and worships from its present Chapel built in 1721. This is a grade 2* listed building which is unique, with a three-decker pulpit, box pews, balcony and marvellous pipe organ. This magnificent building needs constant maintenance and that is the reason for our appeal for donations to the restoration fund.
