About Different Strokes North East
Different strokes is a community based exercise after stroke group aimed at providing peer support and exercise to people under 65 years who have suffered a stroke. Different Strokes North East is a regional non profit making non government funded chatiry supporting local stroke survivors. The group was formed in 2004 by two local young stroke survivors driven by a recognised need for a peer support group for young stroke survivors. The main aim of this group are to offer valuable peer support support to improve access to information on stroke related issues and to promote participation in a phyiotherapy led community exercise after stroke service.
