Glasgow Orchestral Society is an amateur symphony orchestra which rehearses every week and performs 4 concerts per year in the Glasgow area. The orchestra is the oldest and largest amateur orchestra in Glasgow. There are approximately 70 members currently and membership is open to adults who play classical music instruments. Players pay a yearly subscription fee to help cover costs such as rehearsal and concert venues, music hire, conductor fees etc however any extra funds are gratefully received. Additional funding allows the orchestra to play a more varied repertoire, to hire professional musicians to coach the orchestra and to hire soloists for concert performances. All these additional activities help players in the orchestra but, more importantly, they make coming along to our concerts a more enjoyable experience for our audience! Thank You for supporting Glasgow Orchestral Society.
