World Challenge Ecuador 2018 - Hasan Ali

Ecuador is bisected by the equator and is bordered to the north by Colombia, to the south and east by Peru, and to the west by the Pacific Ocean. The Andes stretch from the Colombian border in the north all the way to Peru in the south. The Eastern and Western Cordilleras are divided by the Avenue of Volcanoes. The coastal plain located between the Pacific Ocean and the Andes is covered by tropical forest and plantations of bananas, cacao, coffee and sugar. Ecuador is divided into three distinctive geological regions the Sierra, Oriente and Costa. In the Sierra you will find the Andes Mountains, a belt which runs down the centre of the country. The regions landscape is dominated by volcanoes, many of which are still active! Ecuadors main cities, including the capital city of Quito, are located in the wide valley known as the Avenue of Volcanoes. Located east of the Sierra, the Oriente is an area dominated by the Amazon Basin with wet lowlands blanketed by dense jungle and a meandering network of rivers. The Costa, which heads towards Ecuadors Pacific coast, is home to many beautiful beaches and areas of lush green tropical forest.
