About Hebden Bridge Junior Band
Hebden Bridge Junior Band is for 7 to 19 year olds in the Upper Calder Valley who want to develop their music skills as part of a brass band. Subsidised lessons are provided for new learners, developing musicians as well as established players. Anyone aged between 7 and 19 can apply for lessons which are provided on a first come, first served basis. As well as supporting numerous fairs, events and charity concerts throughout the year, the band usually play at one or two civic events on behalf of Hebden Royd Town Council, join in the parade and open the Mytholmroyd Gala regularly and are the main feature at the annual Candlelighters event, Carols in the Square on Christmas Eve in Hebden Bridge. The band play in excess of 40 engagements throughout the year and are particularly busy in June and July and in the lead up to Christmas.
