About HEROS (Re-Homing Ex Racehorses Organisation Scheme)

HEROS obtained charitable status in July 2006. The charity is dedicated to ensuring former racehorses are retrained to ensure they have an alternative future when their racing days are over. As thoroughbreds are so versatile they are extremely trainable and can excel in any of the equine disiplines. The team at HEROS have successfully re-homed hundreds of racehorses to date and have a "gold standard" reputation for correctly matching the horses to new owners, even as hacks or companions, truly giving them a second chance.
