Hindon Primary School is a small, rural village school where a creative approach to the curriculum, good teaching and excellent pupil progress tracking, enables each, individual child to flourish. Continued academic excellence, means that we maintain our position as one of the highest achieving primary schools in Wiltshire! "Teaching is good. It is particularly strong in the Key Stage Two class where pupils have excellent attitudes to learning and respond enthusiastically to hard work" Ofsted 2014. "The school through its distinctive Christian character, is outstanding at meeting the needs of all learners" SIAMs Report May 2015 Specialist Music, French and Sports teaching help all our pupils discover their potential and a commitment to local sports partnerships enable our children to take part in competitions and festivals. On site facilities include a school kitchen where nutritious home-made meals are prepared and served; a school PE hall, a playground with Monster Play slides and climbers; a school playing field with our 'Forest School' wild area attached and a secure 'Early Years' garden. We can also boast the latest ICT tablets and laptops. We also have close links with the local churches and an on site private Nursery that also provides after-school care.We have very supportive parents and they enjoy a close partnership with our staff which contributes greatly to the life of the school. We are proud that the children can explain to you how they develop their own learning skills! Excellent creative curriculum enrichment activities; visitors and visits add greatly to the pupils' enjoyment of school and to their learning. Our Key Stage 2 SAT's results have put us in the top 5% of highest achieving schools in Wiltshire. "Standards at the end of Year 6 are high in reading and maths and above average in writing" Ofsted 2014. "Year 6 pupils say their learning is 'challenging and interesting' - this is evident in the increasing proportion of pupils reaching the highest available levels in national tests " Ofsted 2014. Our values statement 'Inspiring a lifelong love of learning, within a Christian Ethos, where all achievements are valued and children are happy' underpins all areas of school life. "Excellent pupil behaviour and attitudes reflect high quality relationships based on the schools distinctively Christian values" SIAMs Report May 2015. We are a busy and friendly school, with lots going on.
