World Challenge Thailand 2017 - Lauren Mackintosh

In June 2017 I will be traveling with a group of students from my school to Thailand, Laos, Vietnam and China. We will spend a month trekking throughout these very diverse countries whilst also experiencing and gaining a huge appreciation for these very different cultures, whether that be through meeting new people or sampling local cuisine. We will also be given the opportunity to feel a part of some of the poorest but most interesting communities in the world as we will be taking part in local voluntary work, here we will assist in building new classrooms to give many underprivileged children a safe environment to learn in, or taking part in local conservation work to help many of these communities provide a better future for themselves. This will be one of the greatest experiences in my life, as I will get to travel through some of the most picturesque landscapes in the world, from the hustle and bustle of the busy streets in Hanoi to the surreal calm of the rolling rice paddies in Sapa. However, most importantly I will be given the opportunity to learn valuable life skills from some of the poorest communities in the world whilst also helping them build a better and brighter future for themselves. I would greatly appreciate any donations towards this extraordinary opportunity.
