About Lower Moss Wood Nature Reserve & Wildlife Hospital

Lower Moss Wood is both an Educational Nature Reserve and a Wildlife Hospital. Educational visits are conducted by the Warden, Ray Jackson, to many groups including schools, colleges, WI, corporate, Guides, Scouts, Cubs, Brownies and many more. Ray Jackson has an immense knowledge of wildlife and the local flora and forna and he uses his unique teaching methods to educate the visiting groups. The wildlife hospital sees around 2000 casualties throughout each year and is run by a dedicated workforce of volunteers. The hospital treats and cares for sick and injured wildlife brought in by the general public and is purely funded by public donations.
