World Challenge Croatia 2016 - Shania Makker

I have signed up to go to Croatia with my school as part of World Challenge in May 2016 - by which time I have to raise £1500. I want to go on this trip as I have never been so far away from England for this long without my parents to guide me, so this is a big step in my life that could help me to become more independent. The main reason why I have not travelled on my own is that I have a very serious nut allergy- meaning that if I eat nuts, it could be life threatening for me. My parents have therefore always made sure to check the surrounding for any place that we go to, whether that is a holiday or a friend's house. Going to Croatia means that I have to take control of my allergy without so much help and guidance from family. Also, I am learning/developing skills such as cooking for myself and others, discipline with routines for example waking up and sleeping at the right time and overall looking out for myself and judging things to try to come to the right decision. This trip also seems like a great opportunity to learn things such as hiking/trekking which I have not done much of, kayaking, rowing, river rafting and along with this, exploring a town in southern Croatia! This trip also brings me closer to my friends where we have to rely upon each other, not our families who are normally not so far away. It would mean so much to me if, when you buy something online, you would add my link to the page and then the sites you are buying from will be donating to my fundraising WITHOUT you having to pay anything EXTRA!
