We are a community of ordinary people drawn together by the love of God in Jesus Christ and seeking to serve him in one another. We strive to create places of Christian faith and worship in our two beautiful church buildings; St Martin’s in Ongar Town Centre which was built nearly 1000 years ago and St Peter’s which was built in Victorian times in the fields beyond Shelley. We love to welcome visitors, tourists and those seeking something more spiritual.
Our Parish Vision is:
to be a more evident presence in our community, witnessing to God’s love for all
to be God’s hands and feet within the church and beyond through
worship and prayer
listening and serving
acceptance and welcome
to be a people who are growing towards a closer relationship with God, creation and each other.
We rely entirely on donations to do the work God has set before us, and we would really appreciate your support.
