About Unbound Productions
Unbound Productions are developing (for Edinburgh Festival 2014) a play called Travesti which is a feminist piece derived from real women recalling their experiences across the spectrum from excessive body-hair to sexual molestation and violence. It incorporates music and dance and is performed entirely by a male cast. This gender change makes for a controversial, illuminating and uncomfortable take on our attitudes towards these stories. Do we listen harder; hear better when the voice is male?
