Wildlife in Need

1. To serve the public with a 24/7 year-round: rescue, ambulance, reception and advice service for wild animals. The term “wild animals” includes feral cats, feral pigeons and the like. 2. To establish wildlife hospitals for the care and treatment of sick, injured, distressed and orphaned wild animals. 3. To provide sanctuaries in order to rehabilitate wild animals back to their natural habitat and safe havens for wild animals that are physically or mentally unable to be released. 4. To safeguard our natural heritage by preserving its flora, fauna and physical features in the form of nature reserves. 5. To supply humane feral cat and feral pigeon control programmes by providing permanent homes for neutered cats and lofts for pigeons, whereby their eggs can be removed. We would also offer similar programmes for other species where needed. 6. To enlighten the public with regards to how they can keep the environment safe and habitable for wild animals to co-exist. 7. To encourage, engage and inspire people to encounter, learn about and enjoy the conservation of wildlife. 8. To deliver educational courses, short-term work experience placements and long-term voluntary work. 9. To undertake research by monitoring the population and movement of wildlife and the survival rate of wild animals released by the Trust. 10. To work with the public, landowners and agencies to seek to influence decisions on wildlife management, licensing, policy and practice. 11. To prevent a market existing in the trade of wild animals and promote the image of wild animals that society has condemned as pests.
