Senior PHP Developer

If you love the web, would like to work within a talented team and use the very latest web technology, then we may have the job for you!

We are looking for a talented web developer to help contribute towards the phenomenal success that is easyfundraising. Projects in the pipeline include international expansion, the development of mobile applications and site-wide gamification.

We are on the verge of changing our infrastructure to use cutting edge technologies and best practice in order to deliver an exceptional user experience - and you could be part of it!

You will need to:

  • Understand the Internet and what makes it work.
  • Have a pragmatic and focused approach to deliver quality work.
  • Have a passion for all things web and a keen interest in emerging technologies.

Essential skills:

  • PHP 5, with a thorough understanding of OOP.
  • MySQL 5.
  • HTML/CSS, using semantic markup compliant with W3C standards.
  • Native JavaScript.
  • jQuery.
  • SVN/Git.
  • Experience using MVC frameworks.
  • Experience operating in a Linux/Apache environment.
  • An understanding of API's and RESTful web services.
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Desirable skills:

  • An understanding of the latest client-side technology including HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Experience in relational database design, including the production of ERDs.
  • Experience with the Google Chrome extensions API.
  • An understanding of SEO/SEM.
  • Experience in server side performance optimisation using technologies such as Nginx, MongoDB, Memcached etc.
  • Experience with unit testing procedures and frameworks (e.g. PHPUnit).
  • Experience with deployment systems (e.g. Phing).
  • Mobile application development.

Junior PHP Developer

We are looking for a junior web developer to help contribute towards the phenomenal success that is easyfundraising.

For the right person, this is a unique opportunity to work alongside a talented group of developers on a wide variety of tasks whilst gaining vast experience over a diverse range of web related technologies.

You will need to:

  • Understand the Internet and what makes it work.
  • Have excellent problem solving skills.
  • Have a desire to learn, with a can-do attitude.
  • Have good written communication skills.

Additional skills:

  • Experience using a version control system such as SVN/Git.
  • Experience working in an Linux/Apache environment

Marketing Manager

easyfundraising.org.uk is the largest charity shopping site in the UK, we've so far raised over £3m for our causes. We're looking to increase brand awareness throughout the UK, along with developing an engaging communications program for existing users.

You will be responsible for the creation and implementation of the entire marketing strategy for easyfundraising.org.uk
An ideal role for someone who relishes a challenge and likes working with a great deal of autonomy.

We are open to offering this position on a part time basis, and there is complete flexibility with regards to remote working.

Main roles

  • Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy
  • Management of PR campaigns
  • Continual development of the brand, sales collateral, case studies etc
  • Create and manage lead generation campaigns to get new causes on board
  • Provide ongoing competitor and product analysis
  • Email marketing and communications program
    • Oversee design and build of mails
    • Manage communications calendar
    • Produce weekly communications mail
    • Develop behavioural mail strategy

Secondary roles (if possible)

  • Adwords and SEO skills
  • Website analytics and reporting
  • CRM systems and data mining
  • A thorough understanding of website conversion
  • Managing the easyfundraising affiliate program

Skills

  • Ability to write persuasive copy, have excellent proof reading skills and an attention to detail
  • Excellent level of written and verbal communication skills
  • Self motivated with brilliant organisational skills
  • Excellent email marketing skills with a proven track record
  • Knowledge of dealing with high end Email Marketing platform e.g. Cheetah Mail, Email Vision
