easyfundraising.org.uk is the UK’s leading feel good shopping site – offering charities and other good causes the chance to raise free donations every time their supporters shop online.  With nearly 3,000 retailers on board, including Amazon, John Lewis, Argos, M&S, Tesco, Asda, Next, Expedia, ebay, Sky and many more, donations can be raise on everything from hats to holidays.  Since launching in 2007, there are now over 65,000 active good causes registered with easyfundraising, from schools and local community groups, to national charities and 800,000 registered supporters!

Senior PHP Developer

If you love the web, would like to work within a talented team and use the very latest web technology, then we may have the job for you!

We are looking for a talented web developer to help contribute towards the phenomenal success that is easyfundraising. Projects in the pipeline include international expansion, the development of mobile applications and site-wide gamification.

We are on the verge of changing our infrastructure to use cutting edge technologies and best practice in order to deliver an exceptional user experience - and you could be part of it!

You will need to:

  • Understand the Internet and what makes it work.
  • Have a pragmatic and focused approach to deliver quality work.
  • Have a passion for all things web and a keen interest in emerging technologies.

Essential skills:

  • PHP 5, with a thorough understanding of OOP.
  • MySQL 5.
  • HTML/CSS, using semantic markup compliant with W3C standards.
  • Native JavaScript.
  • jQuery.
  • SVN/Git.
  • Experience using MVC frameworks.
  • Experience operating in a Linux/Apache environment.
  • An understanding of API's and RESTful web services.
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Desirable skills:

  • An understanding of the latest client-side technology including HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Experience in relational database design, including the production of ERDs.
  • Experience with the Google Chrome extensions API.
  • An understanding of SEO/SEM.
  • Experience in server side performance optimisation using technologies such as Nginx, MongoDB, Memcached etc.
  • Experience with unit testing procedures and frameworks (e.g. PHPUnit).
  • Experience with deployment systems (e.g. Phing).
  • Mobile application development.

Product Owner

We are looking for a Product Owner to join us and you will work as part of a wider team including the web development team that are using cutting edge technologies to deliver high quality website functionality.  You will also work with marketing, MI, Customer Service and Finance to provide a link between the technology and business worlds.  We have an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking Product Owner to join our team based in Lichfield. You could be currently working as a Product Owner or a Business Analyst ready for the next step.

Reporting to the Product Manager and working as part of our Scrum team, you will be responsible for helping to define and deliver easyfundraising’s product features and contributing to the success of our business.

You will be required to understand the product roadmap and lead the prioritisation of features, bringing together customer, technical and business requirements. 

You will work closely with all teams across the business and be responsible for analysing requirements, writing user stories, and being a key member of the scrum team through the whole process from backlog refinement to delivery.

Key duties (will include but not be limited to):

  • Work through the product roadmap, researching and creating detailed requirements. This will shape feature development and contribute to the success of the product, and subsequently, our business as a whole
  • Manage your scrum team’s backlog, and ensure the team had the inputs it needs from requirement analysis through to delivery
  • Create any necessary product requirement documentation, working across all departments to ensure change and benefit is managed and communicated for all stakeholders
  • Be an active participant throughout the development cycle, providing expert guidance during development, QA and post launch
  • Use all available sources of data (user feedback, quantitative data and google analytics) to assess the value of features and shape future delivery
  • Understand the market and competitors to deliver class leading products that achieve commercial targets
  • Support the overall revenue and customer satisfaction targets

Product Owner - The Person

In order to be successful you will not only have experience in a similar role, you will also be confident and customer focused as you will be representing the brand to internal and external customers.  You should have experience of working in an agile environment and a passion for technology and innovation.

Essential skills and qualifications:

  • Have business analysis or product management experience, ideally within a web environment, with good software or technology knowledge.
  • A calm, logical and pragmatic attitude; able to determine the “must haves” from the “nice to haves”
  • Clear understanding and knowledge of product lifecycles
  • Good organisational skills; you must be able to coordinate multiple tasks
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Excellent team-working skills and proven ability to influence cross-functional teams


Desirable skills and qualifications:

  • Working knowledge of team collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Knowledge of software development
  • Data analysis
