Senior PHP Developer

We are looking for a talented web developer to help contribute towards the phenomenal success that is easyfundraising. Projects in the pipeline include international expansion, the development of mobile applications and site-wide gamification.

We are on the verge of changing our infrastructure to use cutting edge technologies and best practice in order to deliver an exceptional user experience - and you could be part of it!

You will need to:

  • Understand the Internet and what makes it work.
  • Have a pragmatic and focused approach to deliver quality work.
  • Have a passion for all things web and a keen interest in emerging technologies.

Essential skills:

  • PHP 5, with a thorough understanding of OOP.
  • MySQL 5.
  • HTML/CSS, using semantic markup compliant with W3C standards.
  • Native JavaScript.
  • jQuery.
  • SVN/Git.
  • Experience using MVC frameworks.
  • Experience operating in a Linux/Apache environment.
  • An understanding of API's and RESTful web services.
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Desirable skills:

  • An understanding of the latest client-side technology including HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Experience in relational database design, including the production of ERDs.
  • Experience with the Google Chrome extensions API.
  • An understanding of SEO/SEM.
  • Experience in server side performance optimisation using technologies such as Nginx, MongoDB, Memcached etc.
  • Experience with unit testing procedures and frameworks (e.g. PHPUnit).
  • Experience with deployment systems (e.g. Phing).
  • Mobile application development.

Product Manager

Job Description:

easyfundraising is the UK's leading good cause shopping site with over 650,000 fundraisers. To date we have raised over £7 million for our good causes but this is just the beginning... Interested? Good, because we have an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking Product Manager to join our team based in Lichfield.

Reporting to the Operations Director, the Product Manager will be responsible for helping define and deliver easyfundraising’s product strategy and commercial success. The Product Manager will be responsible for driving performance and development across a varied portfolio of hosted products. This role will also be required to understand the product roadmap and lead the prioritisation of development, bringing together customer, technical and business requirements. To achieve this Product Manager will work closely with all departments across the business, including project delivery, marketing, finance, customer services and technical teams. This role will be a key driver to the successful growth of the business.

As the easyfundraising subject matter expert in the products we build, the Product Manager will be expected to represent the products internally and occasionally externally; being able to articulate how the product roadmap aligns to and helps deliver the overall company strategy.

Product Manager - The Person

In order to be successful for the Product Manager, you will not only have experience in a similar role, you will be confident and customer focused as you will be representing the brand to internal and external customers.

Key duties of the Product Manager will include but not be limited to:

  • Work through the product roadmap, researching and creating detailed requirements. This will shape product development and assist building go-to-market strategies
  • Managing the product roadmap and backlog, ensuring the development team have the inputs they need from story generation through to product delivery
  • Create formal product requirement documentation, working across all departments to ensure change and benefit is managed and communicated to all stakeholders
  • Develop and own the business case for all new product development
  • Be an active product owner throughout the development cycle, providing expert guidance during development, QA and post launch
  • Manage and direct Ux resource across projects
  • Understand the market and competitors to deliver class leading products that achieve commercial targets
  • Support the overall revenue and customer satisfaction targets
  • Experience of managing new product launches

Essential skills and qualifications required for Product Manager:

  • Have product management experience within a web environment, perhaps with an element of software or technology knowledge
  • Clear understanding and knowledge of product lifecycles
  • Have owned/managed a full product roadmap from inception to implementation
  • Ability to co-ordinate multiple tasks
  • Experience of working in an Agile environment
  • Experience with multi-variant testing tools and techniques
  • Experience in analytics (Google Analytics etc)
  • Excellent team working skills and proven ability to influence cross-functional teams
  • Experience of managing new product launches

Desirable skills and qualifications required for Product Manager:

  • Certified Product Owner
  • 2 years experience working in an Agile Environment
  • Working knowledge of team collaboration tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Knowledge of software development

QA Engineer

Good, because we have an exciting opportunity for a forward thinking Quality Assurance Engineer to join our team based in Lichfield.

easyfundraising are looking for a QA Engineer who wants to join a fast paced development team. The job will require the using the latest technologies to build scalable and accessible products that work on any device and deliver fantastic customer experience. You will be able to apply solid testing practices in a variety of different development environments, and be the proponent for quality in your team. You will be on top of technology trends and take a pragmatic approach to applying standard test practices to challenging and exciting projects. We’ll be giving you the opportunity to work in a small, exciting, and collaborative environment that encourages innovation and contribution from everyone.

Essential skils and qualifications required for QA Engineer

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Working Knowledge of MySQL Server (including query indexing)
  • Experience in testing PHP
  • Strong Manual Testing (technical)
  • Agile environment experience
  • Knowledge of tools, concepts and methodologies of QA
  • Scrum (happy to be integrated into a development team)
  • Understanding of Web APIs including Soap/Rest
