easyfundraising.org.uk is the UK’s leading feel good shopping site – offering charities and other good causes the chance to raise free donations every time their supporters shop online.  With nearly 3,000 retailers on board, including Amazon, John Lewis, Argos, M&S, Tesco, Asda, Next, Expedia, ebay, Sky and many more, donations can be raise on everything from hats to holidays.  Since launching in 2007, there are now over 65,000 active good causes registered with easyfundraising, from schools and local community groups, to national charities and 800,000 registered supporters!

Business Intelligence Developer

Business Intelligence Developer

Are you an experienced Business Intelligence Developer, who has a passion for technology and significant experience in data warehousing? 

We have a fantastic opportunity for someone to join an existing team of analysts to be the main BI Developer resource. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Evolve existing BI Solutions and deliver new solutions
  • Design, develop and maintain a cloud based data warehouse
  • Convert business requirements into technical specifications
  • Perform all necessary tests to enable work to be signed off
  • Work closely with BI analysts to facilitate front-end development and prepare datasets for analytics
  • Some front-end development within QlikView and potentially other BI visualisation platforms such as Tableau and Power BI in future
  • Develop automated near real-time exception reporting around key metrics and data flows
  • Develop a suite of data quality reports

Skills / Experience Required

  • Experienced Business Intelligence Analyst with full BI Stack skills
  • Experience in building data warehouses
  • Experience with ETL tools
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience in dimensional modelling
  • Demonstrate excellent troubleshooting skills - quickly identify the source of any data error
  • Highly proactive to continually identify and raise opportunities, risks and issues both within processes, methods and technologies
  • Understand business requirements and deliver solutions that fit these requirements
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues from all levels of seniority and technical ability
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple to understand way
  • Comfortable working proactively in new and potentially unfamiliar areas with limited guidance – defining approaches and learning new skills as required

Desirable Skills / Experience

  • Experience working with Cloud Databases (AWS etc.) and Cloud BI technologies
  • Experience working under Agile methodologies
  • Big data frameworks such as Hadoop or Spark
  • MDX
  • Modern front end BI visualisation tools, in particular QlikView, Tableau or Power BI
  • Database admin experience (for data warehousing in particular)
  • Web scraping
  • Data governance experience
  • API experience for data extraction in particular
  • JSON data structures
  • Basic Java
  • Basic front-end form design, e.g. for internal data upload

DevOps Engineer

If you are a talented DevOps engineer who is knowledgeable and passionate about technology, then we may have the job for you!  We require an individual that believes the route to speed and stability is through automation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enhancing and supporting a build framework for deploying applications and managing Linux servers
  • Extensive experience working with, installing and configuring Apache, and other common Open Source application and web servers
  • Experience developing, installing and configuring with Chef or Ansible
  • Commercial experience of working on and running large web application infrastructures
  • Experience of building monitoring solutions with Nagios or similar
  • Running development, stage and production environments and deployments
  • Supporting and working alongside Agile development teams to ensure they have all the facilities to get the job done
  • Driving best technology and software development practices
  • Owning and managing relationships with multiple suppliers &/or equivalent internal teams
  • Designing and implementing a platform including automated provisioning, security, management infrastructure (e.g. DNS, time, Authentication, mail and directory services)
  • Establishing and running the processes for on-going maintenance monitoring support and security patching of a platform
  • Ensuring continuous improvement within the team

Senior PHP Developer

If you love the web, would like to work within a talented team and use the very latest web technology, then we may have the job for you!

We are looking for a talented web developer to help contribute towards the phenomenal success that is easyfundraising. Projects in the pipeline include international expansion, the development of mobile applications and site-wide gamification.

We are on the verge of changing our infrastructure to use cutting edge technologies and best practice in order to deliver an exceptional user experience - and you could be part of it!

You will need to:

  • Understand the Internet and what makes it work.
  • Have a pragmatic and focused approach to deliver quality work.
  • Have a passion for all things web and a keen interest in emerging technologies.

Essential skills:

  • PHP 5, with a thorough understanding of OOP.
  • MySQL 5.
  • HTML/CSS, using semantic markup compliant with W3C standards.
  • Native JavaScript.
  • jQuery.
  • SVN/Git.
  • Experience using MVC frameworks.
  • Experience operating in a Linux/Apache environment.
  • An understanding of API's and RESTful web services.
  • The ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

Desirable skills:

  • An understanding of the latest client-side technology including HTML5 and CSS3.
  • Experience in relational database design, including the production of ERDs.
  • Experience with the Google Chrome extensions API.
  • An understanding of SEO/SEM.
  • Experience in server side performance optimisation using technologies such as Nginx, MongoDB, Memcached etc.
  • Experience with unit testing procedures and frameworks (e.g. PHPUnit).

Partnerships Account Executive

We are expanding our partnerships team and are looking for someone to provide high quality support and assistance to the team, our key retailers, their agencies, and the affiliate networks. This role will include ensuring our website is kept up to date with the best offers, enabling our partners (UK good causes & charities) to raise as much money as they can through easyfundraising.  You will play a vital role in supporting our account managers to help optimise performance and provide day to day management of affiliate partners.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintaining relationships with key retailers and affiliate partners
  • Retailer campaign creation and reviews
  • General website housekeeping - updating links, logos and offers
  • Updating tenancy on site as per our inventory
  • Adding commission increases
  • Banner maintenance
  • Checking and updating broken links
  • Collating information for weekly newsletters
  • Adding retailer offers to the website
  • Selling tenancy and associated paperwork                                                

Skills / Experience Required

  • Proven experience of digital account management is essential
  • Affiliate experience desirable
  • Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
  • Be highly organised and able to multi-task / prioritise independantly
  • Good interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with colleagues and clients
