About Menai Straits WI
Menai Straits WI is one of the newest WI's on the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales. We held our first meeting on September 15th 2008 and started with 13 members, and we now have 45. We are an enthusiastic group of women of all ages and backgrounds. We are considered a fairly young WI group and we embrace the traditions of the WI, we take participate in community events and make jam and cakes, but also enjoy more modern activities such as taking part in the Race for Life, visiting Chester Races etc . However, I do not think we will be making a calendar!! What can we offer you? We have monthly meetings with interesting speakers. The opportunity to meet new women and make new friends. The chance to learn new or traditional skills. Social Evenings and Outings. The opportunity to become part of the local community. We are the WI that our members want us to be and we aim to provide something for every member.
