About Porthtowan Surf Life-Saving Club
Porthtowan Surf Life-Saving Club is a volunteer organization, founded in 1955 and based on the north coast of Cornwall, U.K. Our main aim has always been \"to save life\"- whether by prevention or by rescue from the sea. We actively promote the water safety aspect of all beach activities.
The club currently has well in excess of 100 members, from nippers as young as 7, to veterans in their 70\'s, we all enjoy the relaxed, family atmosphere as well as the camaraderie and competitive nature of our sport. We encourage all our members to take lifesaving qualifications, compete for the club in carnivals and championships and take part in fundraising and community activities.
