Theatre NEMO Nemo: Latin meaning no one. we are a small thriving charity based in Glasgow which is considered one of the most outstanding, powerful, enabling services happening in Communities , psychiatric hospitals and prisons in Scotland at this present time. Using a wide range of art forms, such as drama, creative writing, film, animation, sound production and music; Theatre NEMO have brought life-changing effects in the lives of some of societies most depressed and repressed people.
We believe that ‘ positive health’ and especially ‘ positive mental health’ is not just the absence of illness. It is important to remember that in order to function and survive as individuals within a community we need to feel good about ourselves and feel confident in our ability to build and maintain relationships throughout our lives. We believe the process journey our participants make, help them gain an understanding not only of themselves, but the people they come into contact with and consider the effect an individual’s actions have on other people. This is often explored through the work we do by encouraging people to develop stories and plots for the animation/performance that occurs as part of the process.
