About Friends of Akitas Trust (UK)
We are three Akita enthusiasts, who felt that we could do more to help Akitas in need. Every week numbers of Akitas end up in council pounds with only seven days to find a home before destruction. We aim to get as many of these Akitas as possible into ’safe’ kennels and ultimately into new forever homes. That’s not to say that we will only help ‘Poundies’. Our objective is to help, rescue where necessary, rehabilitate and rehome any Akita which needs it, through assessing both dog and potential owners, to ensure a well-matched and long lasting, happy relationship.
