10 top fundraising ideas for April

With Easter and St George’s day this month, there are plenty of opportunities to boost your fundraising! Here are a few of our favourite April fundraising ideas to help you to raise more for your favourite good cause.

1. Easter FUNdraising!

There are heaps of fun ways to raise money at Easter! Organise an Easter egg hunt or an egg and spoon race at work, school, or in your local area. Great fun for kids… and adults! Charge an entry fee for everyone to take part and have a prize for the winner.

2. Easter egg raffle

Get hold of the biggest Easter egg you can find and organise a raffle. See if you can get a local business or supplier to donate the egg to boost the funds you raise even further!

3. Pin the tail on the Easter bunny

A seasonal adaptation of the classic pin the tail on the donkey, and one for the classroom or the office! Again charge a small entry and the person who gets closest wins a prize!

4. Easter bonnet contest

Ask for donations in return for wearing a hat to work or school – the bigger or crazier the better! Or run a competition for the most creative home-made bonnet!

5. Get outdoors

With the lighter evenings and (slightly!) warmer weather, it’s a great time to get outdoors. See if there’s a sponsored run, walk or swim near you and get involved. Take part yourself, or get your members and supporters involved on your behalf! The more the merrier!

6. Get sponsored

Thinking about giving something up? Trying something new? Whatever it is, get sponsored by as many people as you can and turn it into a fundraiser for your favourite cause! Maybe something simple like a 24-hour sponsored silence, or if you’ve got serious willpower, give up chocolate for the month (eggs-tra difficult with all those easter eggs around)!

7. Organise a talent show

With the return of Britain’s Got Talent on TV, why not showcase your talent in your own talent show? Get a local hall, school or church on board to provide the venue, charge acts to take part and the audience pay to watch and vote for a winner!

8. Dress down day

A nice easy one! Charge a fee for everyone to dress down for the day! If you usually dress more casually for work, why not dress up instead? Or couple it with Easter or St George’s Day and have a prize for the best costume?

9. Coffee morning and cake sale

Who doesn’t enjoy a cup of coffee and a cake? Get friends, family and colleagues involved to bake lots of cakes, and then invite people along to enjoy them. Charge £1 a cake and watch the donations roll in!

10. St George’s day

Celebrate with all things traditional! Tea, cucumber sandwiches, a full English breakfast, or fish and chips, a game of monopoly or you could even partner with a local pub to organise cockney knees up or an English themed quiz!
