Double the difference

Here at easyfundraising we are dedicated to helping you make a real difference to charities and causes across the world. Together we’ve raised over £40 million, all for free, simply by enabling people to earn cashback when they shop online and passing that money on to the cause of their choice.

With over 170,000 causes raising free funds through the website, the free money raised has bought everything from new laptops for children, veterinary care for sick animals, roofs for churches, goalposts for football clubs and everything in between!

This week is Double Donations week, which means you can make double the difference. We’re celebrating our amazing supporters and causes by sharing your stories about how the donations raised through easyfundraising have made a real difference. Here are just a few of the many people who’ve benefited:

Advocates and Angels

Advocates and Angels was established in memory of Lydia who was born in 2015 and had significant disabilities. After several lengthy hospital admissions and constantly living in survival mode, her mum Beth, made a small postcard with Lydia’s basic information on. She had repeated her life thousands of times within months and was burnt out. The emotional trauma of repeating herself was exhausting and trying to store all the medical information and history was impossible. Over time that small postcard turned into an A4 sheet, which turned into a few pages which then turned into a medical binder.

In July 2020 Lydia tragically died and after a period of reflection, Beth felt that carrying on with the charity was the only option to ensure other families didn’t have to feel the isolation or burnout she once did. She created templates of anticipated questions as part of a medical binder as a free resource for other parents. They also give emergency care packages out to parents in hospitals and service every children’s ward in Wales. In their packs, parents can receive hygiene essentials to give them dignity when caring for their poorly child.

All the money raised with easyfundraising has been put into our Chrysalis care packages, whether it’s been spent on a toothbrush or bar of soap or when larger donations have come in, it’s been spent on the starter box we give out to the hospital, every penny makes a huge difference. It may not seem like much but when everyone teams together it can make a significant impact. “

Storybook Dads

Storybook Dads allows parents in prison to reconnect with their children at home through the magic of storytelling. Parents record bedtime stories on CDs and DVDs, so their children can listen to them or watch them whenever they like. Every year in the UK, 200,000 children experience the imprisonment of a parent. It often leads to shame, guilt & isolation resulting in failure at school. These children are three times more prone to mental health problems than their peers. Storybook Dads helps strengthen the relationship between parent and child during this difficult time apart.

Thanks to easyfundraising, Storybook Dads were able to keep a core team of project workers employed running these new projects during a very difficult time. As they continued to work under some restrictions in prisons, donations help to keep work going beyond Covid.”

Smalls for All

Smalls for All® is a small charity that collects and distributes new pants, and new and gently worn bras to people in Africa and the UK who can’t afford or can’t get any.

We’ve grown dramatically over the last few years and always need to raise funds to support the work we do. For example, to cover running costs. We’re indebted to each and every person who helps us raise funds. Without their generosity and kindness we wouldn’t be able to carry on.”

Pyjama Fairies

Pyjama Fairies is the only UK charity to make pyjamas and surgical gowns specially made for babies and children aged up to 16 years old having surgery and any other associated medical test.

We’ve grown dramatically over the last few years and always need to raise funds to support the work we do. For example, to cover running costs. Unless donations of new pants increase again very soon, we may also need to buy pants. We’re indebted to each and every person who helps us raise funds. Without their generosity and kindness we wouldn’t be able to carry on.”
