How the Good Cause Giveaway is making a real difference!

Here at easyfundraising we’re always looking for even more ways to make a difference to our good causes and charities. In a bid to do this, in October 2016 we launched the £1,000 Good Cause Giveaway, where every month we gave supporters the chance to win up to £500 in donations for their cause.

The competition, automatically enters supporters into the prize draw once they have made two purchases from our 3,100 retailers, who also give a free donation for every purchase made via easyfundraising.

Winners

Raise funds for your school

Henry Box School Foundation

Our very first prize winner, thanks to Nike in October 2016 was The Henry Box School Foundation. Supporter Rachel McDermott was thrilled to find out she had won the extra funds for the Association.

What a great surprise to find we had won an extra £500! Absolutely delighted – made my day! From my point of view easyfundraising is such a simple thing to do. If you regularly shop online it soon starts adding up!”

Raise money for Lose the Label

Lose the Label

The first prize winners of November’s competition, thanks to BT, were Lose The Label, a community interest company working in collaboration with individuals, organisations, charities, community groups and families from within the global Down’s Syndrome community. Michelle said:

The £500 prize giveaway is an incredibly welcomed contribution to our ‘more than medical’ project, which offers new parents, from the point of considering NIPT choices through to a postnatal diagnosis for their baby, an insight into what life is really like for children and adults with Down’s syndrome and their families today.”

Runners Up

Raise money for Branoc Hall

Branoc Hall – Branscombe

Each month we also give 4 runners up a £100 donation prize, which has helped boost fundraising for many causes.

Mike Brown, a supporter of Branoc Hall in Branscombe, was one of our runners up from the October giveaway.

We are currently undergoing a review to do a major refurbishment to the children’s playground, including new swings, roundabouts, and basket ball hoops all of which are expensive, and your donation of £100 will go towards this fund. On behalf of the children of the village of Branscombe, thank you!”

Colin Green, a supporter of fly2help, a UK aviation charity dedicated to raising the spirits of people and inspiring young people as they consider their future careers, was a runner up in the November Giveaway.

As a small charity, every little helps! The money will go into General Funds which are always under pressure and so help us to continue to provide Air Smiles Days, our beneficiaries. It feels great that my indirect donations to fly2help, which I try and activate every time I shop on the internet, have been substantially increased as a result of winning this competition.”

Raise money for Melanie's Mission

Melanie’s Mission

In January, we ran our first Good Cause Giveaway travel special with Expedia. Runner up, Melanie’s Mission, received a very welcome £100 donation. The charitable trust was created to give 27-year-old Biology student, Melanie Hartshorn, from Cramlington, a chance at life by funding the complex and specialised Neurosurgery Mel desperately needs, which is only available in the US at a cost of over £150,000. Mel suffers from a rare form of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome (EDS), which affects her connective tissue.

The money is a lovely surprise and will really boost Mel’s mood to know that you’ve chosen to help support her! We also hope you can help us spread the word about her desperate situation for life saving surgery, before it’s too late, and so in turn help us raise awareness of our campaign and worthy cause too!”
