Over £31m raised for good causes through easyfundraising
In July, I will be travelling to India for a week with SLV Global to take part in the Clinical and Ancient Psychology course! I am very excited about this as I get to learn about Eastern treatment methods and their approach to mental health, and how it might differ from Western approaches where medication seems to be the all-too-easy option. The week is divided into two parts - the first is spent at the School of Ancient Wisdom, learning yoga and meditation techniques from clinical professionals, gaining an understanding of how these can be used in the treatment of mental health challenges. The second part of the week takes part at the National Institute of Mental Health and Neuroscience, attending lectures and seminars on global mental health. This course will provide me with a unique insight into how medical advances can work alongside ancient Eastern methods to provide a holistic approach for the promotion of positive mental health :)
