Avenue Methodist Church is a grade 2 listed building opened in 1908 .Unfortunately, church membership declined and where once more than 300 regularly worshipped at Avenue, this declined to a figure nearer to 30, almost all of whom are over 60, the vast majority considerably so. Accordingly, the members, with a heavy heart, took the decision that the church would close just 4 years after celebrating its centenary. The final service was on Sunday August 26th 2012 and was led by Avenue’s Local Preachers and Worship Leaders, but the building lives on. With the support of the Middlesbrough & Eston Methodist Circuit the church is home of the Avenue Community Project. We hope you can still support us through easyfundraising and easysearch.
