About AVID (Association of Visitors to Immigration Detainees)

AVID is the national network for voluntary organisations providing support for people in immigration detention. We provide training and support to organisations visiting people in every detention centre in the UK and several prisons. Immigration detention in the UK is indefinite and known to have an enormous negative impact on people's mental health. Your donation will help us train visitors to provide emotional and practical support to people experiencing the stress of detention.
