Backwell Playing Fields is a 17 acre public park situated in the heart of the village of Backwell in North Somerset. In 1929 Theodore Robinson opened the park to the public and gave it to the "Children and adults of the parish of Backwell". The fields are managed and maintained by a team of directors of the Backwell Playing Fields Charity. As well as a number of sports clubs on the site, including tennis and bowls, there are two children's play areas, picnic tables and football pitches.
