Bishop Creighton House (BCH)

Bishop Creighton House is a local charity that has been operating in the borough of Hammersmith and Fulham for over 100 years. Our mission is the same today as it was when we started - to tackle the problems caused by inequality, poverty and social isolation. Our practical and social welfare projects work together for people of all ages in our community with particular focus on older people, those with physical or learning disabilities, and low income families with young children. We help people to live safely and securely in their own homes; to feel less lonely and more engaged in society. Our work includes: telephone befriending for older, isolated adults; mentoring support for young adults with learning disabilities; security and safety advice and equipment for vulnerable people; child safety advice and equipment for low income families; and organising disability-related adaptations for disabled and older people. We run a community centre, open seven days a week, for community groups and local residents and we also provide affordable office space for local charities.All our services are free to our clients and every year 150 volunteers support us to deliver services.
