Women V Cancer (CAF) Kenya 2013 - Carolyne Colley

I have joined an amazing group of women taking positive action in the fight against cancer. Together we will embark on an incredible 400km bike challenge in Kenya, riding through the rift valley - from the slopes of Majestic Mount Kenya to the shores of magnificent Lake Victoria raising funds to fight breast, cervical and ovarian cancers. Will will also be visiting an elephant orphanage working to rehabilitate elephants orphaned through poaching and other human related disasters back into the wild at Nairobi National Park. I will be challenging myself as part of a women-only team of cyclists riding through Kenya to support the work of three UK womens cancer charities: Breast Cancer Care, Jo's Cervical Cancer Trust and Ovarian Cancer Action. A donation will also be made to support cancer care in Kenya. Over 400 women have already completed this challenge raising over £1.5 million for the three charities and making £50,000 donation to the Faraja Cancer Care project in Kenya. We will cycle 400kms over 5 days - both on and off road - experiencing Africa away from the usual tourist trails through savannah plains, wildlife game parks, tropical rainforests and traditional villages. As well as training hard, I need to raise a minimum of £2,900 to support the work of the Women V Cancer charities and asking my friends, family, colleagues, local people and companies to help me reach my target.
