The Captain Cook Schoolroom Museum represents a key part in the life of James Cook. It was his early education in Great Ayton which resulted in him later being apprenticed in the world of shipping. The museum contains still and inter-active displays about Cook and Great Ayton. Entry to the museum is free and the Trust relies mainly on donations from the public to maintain and insure the building and its contents, and to pay for taxes and utilities. Your help towards this would be much appreciate
