East African Playgrounds Uganda 2015 - Charlotte Owens

Hello everyone and welcome to my fundraising page! I am so excited to be fundraising for East African Playgrounds, who build awesome playgrounds across Uganda, and soon further afield, to promote the right to play. Access to a playground is something we take for granted, and therefore I think that their work is super important. I will be spending 3 weeks in Uganda, starting with a climb up Africa's largest and rarely climbed mountain range - the Rwenzori Mountains, which will take me through various difficult terrains: marsh, rivers, jungle and across rope bridges. I will then trek for a day to find the last remaining silver-back mountain Gorilla's. I'll then be spending a week volunteering to build a playground for a local community so that children can develop key social and communication skills, and you'll finally see where all your hard earned money is being spent. I have to raise £1600, £1000 of which goes directly to the charity. However, I personally have to raise another £1500 to pay for flights, vaccinations etc. I'll be doing lots to fundraising - but my biggest sponsored challenge will be climbing The Three Peaks in June/July 2015!!!
