Over £32m raised for good causes through easyfundraising
I will be going to Sri Lanka for 4 weeks starting May 2018, completing a mental health placement with SLV. I will be supporting and aiding the treatment of vulnerable adults and children who suffer from mental health disorders and who have special needs. This is highly important and beneficial as they don't have the advanced medical and psychological treatments like we have in the U.K. I am undergoing this placement because I live to help people in need, and this is of high importance to me. Although mental health services still aren't what they should be in the U.K, because of funding cuts, I can only imagine how difficult it is for those in disadvantaged areas who have almost no access to help. Alongside this, in my spare time I will be teaching the locals how to speak English and helping them improve and learn more about the English language, as I believe this will benefit them when taking part in our activities.
