Over £40m raised for good causes through easyfundraising
Clovelly is a very rural village in North Devon in the South West of England. The village is built into the side of a steep hill and is accessed via a steep cobbled street. The young people are unable to use any wheeled items such as roller skates, bicycles etc in the village because of the cobbles. The nearest the nearest town is Bideford which is about 9 miles away and public transport is very limited. Facilities in the village were absent for youngsters until the youth club opened in March 2008. We provide a range of facilities when we open on Tuesday evenings to young folk aged 10 to 17 years. We hope to provide music tuition and drama seesionswhen we have enough funding. We also organize a range of subsidised summer outings during long school summer holidays. We currently have 28 memebers and sevevral in the wings awaiting their 10th birthday. Everyone involved with the running of the youth club, including the trained youth leader, are volunteers.
