Congleton Museum is an accredited museum serving Congleton and the surounding areas. It's displays cover the most interesting aspects of the town's history, including the prehistoric era, the English Civil War and the nineteenth century textile industry. It is run by a trust and staffed almost entirely by volunteers. It has a flourishing education department and a well stocked shop selling local history books which are .exclusive to the museum. It is open from 10 - 4.30 on Saturdays and from 12 - 4.30 every other day except Monday. You can find it behind Congleton Town Hall, almost opposite the police station.
