Who are Carers Support Merton? Carers Support Merton improves the quality of life for unpaid carers who live in the London Borough of Merton. We do this by :- Informing Carers of their rights and what help is available to them. Providing respite activities and therapy sessions. Providing Clubs for children who can met and have fun with others in similar situations. Information and advice on all aspects of caring responsibility. Help with carers assessments and benefit advice. Regular Newsletters. Who is a Carer? A carer is someone who looks after a family member, partner, friend, neighbour, child who due to an illness, disability, frailty or addition is unable to manage alone. Carers provide unpaid care and support which can involve personal care, cooking, shopping, housework and giving emotional support. A carer can be any age and include children who may be looking after an ill or disabled parent, relative, sister or brother.
